Dark vessel detection, made easy.

Detect and classify vessels in any ocean, in any conditions.

Our Solution

Satellite SAR imaging for any conditions

Oceans are incredibly vast, and conditions can change in an instant. This means standard optical satellite imagery has limitations. Cloud cover or darkness can render these standard images incomplete or useless, leaving blindspots when monitoring oceans, seas and ports.

Marinsider’s unique approach to application of Satellite-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) removes these obstructions, ensuring clear view regardless of weather conditions or time of day.

With imagery updates every few hours, this means you’re free to observe anywhere on Earth, at any time, with unmatched insight.

AI insights made easy

SAR is detailed, but the complexity of images makes analysis incredibly difficult – especially when observing large areas.

Using data from our SAR partners, Marinsider evaluates the image stream through our vessel detection and classification algorithms and does the hard work for you.

Simply define an area and timespan, and Marinsider generates a vessel detection report. Listing the size, location, heading and class of detected ships.

Detect dark vessels at up to 90% accuracy

Identification of dark vessels can be impossible with traditional technology. Ships can turn off or spoof their AIS signals, or even refuse to use AIS transmitters to identify themselves.

Marinsider’s combination of SAR and AI sees through these attempts at remaining dark. Now, no vessel is completely untraceable.

About Us

Supporting the ocean’s decision-makers

With 10 years experience in translating complex SAR imagery into actionable products, we’re not newcomers to the industry.

Using this extensive background, Marinsider was built from the ground up to translate complex radar data into usable information. Now our focus is on making these insights accessible to organizations around the world, and helping to stop exploitation of the ocean.

Our mission

Between $10 billion - $24 billion worth of seafood is stolen from the ocean each year. That’s just one illegal activity of many taking place across the oceans of the world.

Monitoring organizations need accessible and accurate imaging, and our mission is to make SAR technology readily available where it’s needed most.

Our team

Together, we’re driven to achieve our mission.

With backgrounds spanning technical and business fields, consisting of SAR specialists, programmers, AI developers and business professionals – we have vast experience in delivering innovative, SAR-based products and services.
